The Next Running of the Head of the Charles Regatta is October 17th-19th, 2025!
The Head of the Charles Regatta is the largest two-day regatta in the world, and it takes place smack through the middle of the greater metro area! Over 11,000 athletes will row the Charles River in over 1,900 boats in 61 events.
The Regatta draws huge numbers of spectators and rowing enthusiasts every year, and if you want to be keep up with the action, we find the best way to do so is by bike!
Bike Along the Regatta
Take advantage of the bike paths that run along almost the entirety of the Charles River in the greater Boston area on one of our Hybrid, E-Bike, or Road bikes so close to the action.

Here are some tips on how to best get around:
- Plan your vantage points ahead of time
Use a mapping software like Google Maps to find the best routes between places on the routes. - Obey the law!
Also, obey any instructions given by Regatta staff, police, or route marshals. - Crossing the course
There are numerous bridges over which you can cross the race — although be courteous to the other spectators who may be there already! - Have Fun!
